Who are we?

The Colorado House Rabbit Society is licensed by the national House Rabbit Society. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization made up entirely of volunteers. There are no paid positions. Every penny of all donations goes to helping the rabbits. We have two purposes: rescue and education.

Education

We educate potential adopters so they know what to expect of rabbits and can determine whether they are suitable for their family. We have written materials to educate people about rabbits. More...

Our Information Sheet describes characteristic House Rabbit personality and behavior; the correct amount and types of food for both young and mature rabbits; and lists vegetables which are good for rabbits, as well as those which are dangerous to them. To print the Information Sheet...

Rescue

We work with animal shelters, taking rabbits who would otherwise be humanely killed, if we have space in our foster homes. We also accept rabbits from individuals facing death or who have died, when there are no family members to take in the rabbits. More...

Tune-Up Classes

We offer a class to help people learn to handle their rabbits safely, to perform basic maintenance (clipping nails, cleaning scent pockets, etc.), and to catch problems before they become major. This class is free to anyone who has adopted a rabbit from any animal shelter.

Please call Sandy McFall at 970-263-7775 to reserve your spot or to inquire when additional classes will be offered.
