Available for Permanent Foster
If you interested in providing homes for any of these rabbits, see the information on our Permanent Fostering Program.
Many rabbits come to us in their mid-to-senior years when they are more likely to need costly medical care. Some come to us with chronic conditions requiring on-going medical care. Such rabbits are much less likely to be adopted because of their higher medical expenses. Often these rabbits have been house rabbits most of their lives and are quite well-behaved, affectionate companions, but through no fault of their own, have been abandoned by their previous caretakers.
Other rabbits who need people to look at them with unselfish eyes are the shyer rabbits. In a shelter, they do not rush to the front of their crates for attention, yet these rabbits deserve a home as much as the more outgoing bunnies. And rabbits with seeming behavior problems have a very good chance of blossoming in a home where they get more individual attention and experience less chaos than in a shelter. Such rabbits may bond more closely with their people than the average rabbit.
People may worry about medical needs of older bunnies, as well as recognizing they won’t be with them for as many years as younger rabbits are likely to be. Yet these rabbits, too, need love and care. Elderly rabbits and those likely to require more than normal medical care are available as permanent fosters.

Lola and Florie
Lola and Florie were a bonded pair taken to the Longmont Humane
Society. Lola had a problem with a back leg which the vet there
said was caused by a toenail. Knowing it was more than that, we took
the pair, and found that Lola had a dislocated ankle. After treatment, it’s now fine.
These girls make a delightful pair of friendly rabbits! They're hoping for a home soon so Lola can get lots of exercise to make up for being lame a little while. Florie's ready for them to enjoy family life, too.
Lola - DOB: 2004 Weight: 3-1/2 lbs
Florie - DOB: 2004 Weight: 4 lbs

Melody and Buddy Boy
Currently in Foster Care - will be back September 11th
In December, 2006, a woman adopted Buddy and Kelsey.
After Kelsey died, she adopted Melody. In February, 2010, without
a word to anyone, she walked into the Bunny Barn, put down a
carrier with Buddy and Melody in it, and walked out.
Poor bunnies, to be so rudely dumped! Since we already had another bunny named Buddy, we changed this boy's name to Buddy Boy, just so we could keep track of which one we were talking about. These two are friendly, gentle, and sweet. It's hard to imagine why they are homeless, but of course we know it isn't through any fault of their own. We have our fingers and paws crossed that they will soon find the best new home they could ever imagine and have the loving life they deserve.
Melody - DOB: 2004 Weight: 4-1/2 lbs
Buddy Boy - DOB: 2006 Weight: 3-1/4 lbs

Blueberry and Jethro
Shy after losing their home.
Jethro was one of the rabbits thrown from a fast moving car. He was injured the worst, losing an eye, and having his ear tattered. Blueberry came to us to find a hus-bunn, and she and Jethro went home in 2006 to live happily ever after—except it didn’t turn out that way. The owner of the house decided to sell, and told the family that the rabbits had to go. Having financial problems, they had no recourse, so the pair came back to us.
The sudden change in living quarters has left these two slightly worried about people they don’t know. They need time to adjust and learn to trust new people.
Blueberry - DOB: 2006 Weight: 4-1/4 lbs
Jethro - DOB: 2004 Weight: 5 lbs

Harry and Nunus
The people responsible for these bunnies decided that they didn’t fit their life style, so they just handed them over to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. And of course, Nunus didn’t appreciate having the plastic hand thrust at her, so HSBV declared them unadoptable. Granted, Nunus has a lot of attitude(as one would expect from a smallish female), but she’s not one to attack. And Harry is a very gentle, friendly guy.
This is a pair of small, short-haired cuties looking for a home with a lifestyle that would just adore having bunnies! "Please come in and tell us how much you like rabbits and we'll be happy to come live with you!"
Harry - DOB: 2005 Weight: 5-1/4 lbs
Nunus - DOB: 2006 Weight: 5-1/4 lbs
