Bunnies In Search of Humans to Love
If you would like to adopt, be sure to read the adoption requirements and application section here.

People often adopt rabbits from other shelters instead of us, saying our rabbits are already being given very good care, and those in other shelters are in greater need. Please remember we do have some very needy rabbits, and every rabbit adopted from us enables us to take in the neediest rabbit from another shelter.

Hoping to adopt? Keep in mind as you look through our rabbits, single rabbits are available only to people looking for a friend for their own single rabbit. We can not pair singles on request for people who have no rabbits already, since the results are unpredictable. For those with no rabbits or an existing pair and wanting another, we always have already proven-compatible pairs available.

Blueberry and Jethro
Shy after losing their home.

Jethro was one of the rabbits thrown from a fast moving car. He was injured the worst, losing an eye, and having his ear tattered. Blueberry came to us to find a hus-bunn, and she and Jethro went home in 2006 to live happily ever after—except it didn’t turn out that way. The owner of the house decided to sell, and told the family that the rabbits had to go. Having financial problems, they had no recourse, so the pair came back to us.

The sudden change in living quarters has left these two slightly worried about people they don’t know. They need time to adjust and learn to trust new people.

Thunder Thunder and Sassafras

These bunnies belonged to a woman in the area of our NW Satellite. She had some personal issues, making it necessary for her to relinquish them. Sandy, the Satellite Manager, had agreed to take them. But unfortunately, because someone then unexpectedly dumped a large number of rabbits on the satellite, there wasn't room for these two when it came time, so the pair came to us.

Thunder is especially friendly and will be a great bunnyboy to enjoy. Sassafras is a little more cautious, but warms up quickly. Sadly, due to the damage done by an abscess in her elbow, Sassafras lost a foreleg. You would never know it, though! She gets around as well as or better than any four-legged bunny.

Barclay

Barclay was one of the rabbits flown from Salt Lake, Utah by "Pilots for Paws". These rabbits time was up, so we took them to save them from killed. Like the others, he arrived neutered and micro-chipped.

Barclay is a little shy at this point, buy he is very gentle and doesn’t mind being picked up. After his near-brush with death, he is greatly looking forward to a great big dose of a happy life! DOB—June, 2009 Wt—1.6 kg (3.5 lb)

Ashley Ashley

Ashley was too cage-aggressive to stay at her original shelter. They decided she didn't want a bunny friend, but we know better - she just needs to meet the right guy.

Although she doesn’t like people intruding into her crate, she doesn’t bite, she just races around as if to say, “If I go fast enough, they won’t be able to touch anything!"

Sunny

Sunny's liver enzyme levels suggested that she might have irreversible liver problems. However, a biopsy indicatged that she had an infection in the bile duct, so she is being treated for that. Once it's been determined that the infection is gone, she'll be ready for adoption.

Someone asked a friend to take Sunny to the Denver Dumb Friends League because she seemed to be a biter. Of course, DDFL said that they would kill her, so the friend turned to us. Sunny is NOT a biter - she simply needs to feel secure, so she doesn’t have to feel that she has to defend herself.

She is a lively little one with a cautious streak, yet friendly and sometimes quite comical. This young lady needs to move into a loving family and have a chance to become the happy bunny she was meant to be.

Corbett Corbett

Corbett was one of the rabbits flown from Salt Lake, Utah by "Pilots for Paws". These rabbits time was up, so we took them to save them from killed. Like the others, he arrived neutered and micro-chipped. Corbett is still a little shy, but he loves to be petted. He is young and sweet and will make a very striking and welcome addition to your family.

Promise

Promise was also flown from a shelter in Salt Lake, Utah, by “Pilots for Paws,” to save her and several others from being killed. As with the rest of those rabbits, she arrived already spayed (or neutered as the case may be), and micro-chipped!

Promise is a bit on the feisty side, but being so young it "promises" to make her an interesting and entertaining furred family member. Feisty

Barney Barney and Cooper

This cute pair of bunnies, blue-eyed Barney and his buddy Cooper, lived in a well-protected area outside, because their human mom’s husband refused to allow them to live inside. Eventually, the humans decided to part ways and the bunnies desperately and the bunnies desperately needed a safe place to go. So here they are, adorable and with the typical dwarf personalities. They’re just a little skittish, but they aren’t fearful.

What they needs is a chance to live, not just in their new human’s heart, but also inside the house where all good HOUSE rabbits should be living!

Twinkle and Merlin

Merlin and Twinkle were strays brought into the Longmont Animal Shelter. Twinkle gave birth to eight babies on her was to us. It was observed that Merlin seemed very depressed. We began to believe that the two were a bonded pair, so we brought Merlin to live in the pen next to Twinkle and her babies. He perked right up and has been fine ever since.

Merlin was slightly worried about people, but he's easy to pick up and is becoming more confident all the time. He's delighted to be hooked back up with Twinkle, "But NO more babies for us! We want to be free to enjoy life and, sadly, there are way more bunnies than there are homes for, so all we can do is hope that all of our babies and both of us find the Forever Homes ALL House Rabbits deserve".

Joshua Joshua

He’ll have to go into the stew pot," a mother told her tearful daughter when he wasn’t purchased from them at the fair. Another woman, with lots more heart, couldn’t bear to see the child’s tears and bought him to save him and make the little girl happy.

However, sadly for Joshua, she kept him mostly in an outdoor hutch. Still more sadly, she later developed adult-onset cystic fibrosis and desperately needed someone to take him - which we did.

Josua wants to be friendly, but is very uptight. And who can blame him? His whole short life has been full of one disappointment after another. He is the poster-bunn for "off to a bad start". But now, NOW, he is in the right place for a "happily ever after" ending to his story. He can find a life soon with a family where he will be given treats INSTEAD of being considered a treat (yuck!). Just in case you hadn't noticed, he is all ears, listening to hear his new family come in to find him.

Joshua - DOB:  2008    Weight:  5-1/2 lbs

Adrianna and Jiggy

We paired our Adrianna with Jiggy some time ago, but when asthma became a serious problem for one of the family members, the pair was returned to us.

These two are both such adorable and loving rabbits, we don't expect to have them here very long. Adrianna does have lovely hair which will require weekly combing, but since she loves attention it will be a delightful way for you to spend time with her.

Melinda Melinda

Melinda was a stray, taken to the Adams County Animal Shelter. The next day, she gave birth to 8 beautiful baby bunnies. She has been an excellent mom, and all eight babies have been ell cared for.

Beautiful herself, she is gentle and likes being petted. She may be more than ready for the life of a pampered companion. Our photographers noted that Melinda REALLY enjoyed sitting on that cushion during the photo session. Having weaned her babies and been spayed, she is more than ready for the life of ease she deserves.

Melinda - DOB:  2008    Weight:  6-1/2 lbs
