Lola and Florie
Currently in Foster Care - will be back September 15th
Lola and Florie were a bonded pair taken to the Longmont Humane
Society. Lola had a problem with a back leg which the vet there
said was caused by a toenail. Knowing it was more than that, we took
the pair, and found that Lola had a dislocated ankle. After treat-
ment, it’s now fine.
These girls make a delightful pair of friendly rabbits! They're hoping for a home soon so Lola can get lots of exercise to make up for being lame a little while. Florie's ready for them to enjoy family life, too.

Tansy
A pregnant-looking doe arrived at the Longmont Humane Society. Tonni Loutzenhiser, who volunteers both there and with us, was worried about what would happen to babies born there, so we said that we would take the mother "just in case".
On her way to us with the doe, now known as Twinkle, Tonni called to say the doe was lifting hair from her breast, so we had a nesting box ready when she arrived. But when we got her out and looked her over, she was obviously NOT pregnant. Then we looked in the carrier, and there wrapped in piles of soft fur, were eight tiny newborns!
Tessa is one of those wonderful babies. We are very happy to have her grow up here where she gets the best of care and learns from all the wonderful volunteers how great people are to her.

Jocelyn
Josie was flown to us from Salt Lake, Utah with other rabbits by "Pilots for Paws" to save her from being killed. She also arrived, supposedly spayed and micro-chipped. Unfortunately, she was neither.
After several months with us, Josie's pen was apparently invaded by an unneutered male, and she gave birth to four beautiful babies. She has weaned them and is now spayed and ready for a hus-bunn and a home!
Jocelyn is one of Josie's beautiful babies. She's clearly got a sharp eye out for the people who will snatch her up and take her to her new home to live a privileged bunny life forever. "Yes, forever please. I'm going to be there for you - please be there for me!"

Dante
Dante was a stray, but closely bonded to the lovely Dixie - gee, they must have needed each other SO much when the whole world seemed against them! Dante, fortunately, had been neutered, so Dixie wasn’t pregnant. They were eventually captured and taken to the Adams County Humane Society, and then came to us from there. Unfortunately, poor Dixie didn't have long here, as she was ill.
Somebody must have loved them a lot - though obviously not enough to keep them safe from getting lost. Wouldn't the world be a better place for all the domestic rabbits if all the people caring for them would read our articles, believe our warnings, and care for their rabbits properly? Dante is now single and looking for another wonderful ladybunn and a home so he can live safely forever.

Bess
Probably for many reasons, Bess was uneasy at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. Accordingly, she was a bit defensive making the staff feel she was going to be undoptable. So we brought her here to see "who she could become".
Since she's been here, she’s happily turned into an absolute love and is no longer at all defensive. In fact, besides being an absolutely adorable young mini-lop, she is a friendly, gentle little ladybunn, just waiting to make a HUGE difference in the life of the family lucky enough and smart enough to make her part of their lives. Love hops in where Bess goes!

Gertrude
Gertrude was supposed to be a companion for a Netherland Dwarf male, but she dominated him aggressively. She ended up being banished to a small laundry room which she defended with tooth and claw - maybe she felt it was all she had left.
We've brought her here now to learn perhaps some bunny manners. It is our hope that she will settle down a bit and become less territorial, so she can find a hus-bunn and a forever family. "If you like 'em feisty and lively, I'm the girl for you."

Boppity and Stratus
A darling little pair of Dutch babies had to come to us due to allergies, and they were quite delighted to find themselves welcomed into a nursery run here with another group of babies about the same age. Boppity, one of the Dutches brought in, and Collette, one of the other babies soon found themselves to be great friends. Collette grew into a stately, handsome girl and the pretty little Boppity was quite dainty.
Stratus belonged to some people who adopted Collette and Boppity to be her friends. But when Collette developed head tilt, and Stratus had an episode of stasis in the same week, the people decided they wanted nothing to do with rabbits, so the three came back to us.
Because few people adopt threesomes, we told these two little ladies that we may eventually find another companion for Collette, so that all these friendly, gentle, easy-going rabbits will have better chances of finding their Forever Homes.
Boppity - DOB: 2008 Weight: 4 lbs
Stratus - DOB: 2007 Weight: 4 lbs

Estelle and Chester
Currently in Foster Care - will be back September 12
This lovely pair came from the Humane Society of Boulder County
where one of them once nipped someone. As sweet and gentle as they
are, we can only assume that someone hadn’t a clue as to how to
approach them.
In fact, they are a really wonderful pair, friendly and lively and just as cute as they can be. They're here hoping that, as young as they are now, they will soon find a Forever home so they can have the long, happy life they were born to live.
Estelle - DOB: 2009-04 Weight: 4-3/4 lbs
