Bunnies In Search of Humans to Love
If you would like to adopt, be sure to read the adoption requirements and application section here.

People often adopt rabbits from other shelters instead of us, saying our rabbits are already being given very good care, and those in other shelters are in greater need. Please remember we do have some very needy rabbits, and every rabbit adopted from us enables us to take in the neediest rabbit from another shelter.

Hoping to adopt? Keep in mind as you look through our rabbits, single rabbits are available only to people looking for a friend for their own single rabbit. We can not pair singles on request for people who have no rabbits already, since the results are unpredictable. For those with no rabbits or an existing pair and wanting another, we always have already proven-compatible pairs available.

Marella

Marella had lived with her brother for three years, when he suddenly attacked her. He left bites on her back, and nearly destroyed her right eye. Fortunately, the eye itself was okay, and only the lid required surgical repair.

Gentle, friendly

Dinah Dinah and Darren

Dinah and Darren were part of a confiscation of rabbits kept together who were fighting viciously. Dinah had bites all over her body, but they all healed nicely. Darren had two massive abscesses on his rump and back, but with the medical care he needed, he has healed nicely.

Cautiously friendly; enjoys being held and snuggled

Dinah - DOB:  Early 2011    Weight:  2.5 lbs Darren - DOB:  February, 2011    Weight:  2.4 lbs

Wilfred

Wilfred had been adopted from a shelter with two other rabbits. The adopter decided to put them all together, with the result that Wilfred was badly injured and developed serious abscesses on his back and rump, so she returned him to the shelter, and from there, he came to us for treatment. He is healing very nicely.

Lively. A little shy, but becoming comfortable with people.

Promise Promise and Barclay

These two rabbits were flown from a shelter in Salt Lake, Utah, by "Pilots for Paws" to save them and several others from being killed. They arrived safe and sound, seemingly having enjoyed their trip.

Barclay is gentle, a little shy, but doesn’t mind being picked up. Promise is a little more feisty.

Promise - DOB:  June, 2009    Weight:  5 lbs Barclay - DOB:  June, 2009    Weight:  4.75 lbs

O'Hare-A and Sterling

We were asked to take O'Hare-a, because she seemed to have some problems with her rear legs. X-rays revealed that she had an old compression fracture at L3 of her spine. Acupuncture resulted in much better use of her legs.

Sterling, a sweet boy, was a stray, taken to Adams County, and from there, he came to us.

O'Hare-a begs for attention! Adores people. Sterling is gentle, friendly, easy to handle

O'Hare-A - DOB:  2010    Weight:  5.5 lbs Sterling - DOB:      Weight:  3.5 lbs

Nina Nina

Nina came to us because she has maloccluded incisors, and the shelter wasn't able to remove them, as we are able. Once her incisors have been taken care of, she'll need a human willing to cut up her vegetables for her.

Gentle, easily handled.

Nina - DOB:  2008    Weight:  3.6 lbs

Nimbus

Nimbus was a stray, taken to a shelter, and from there, he came to us. It was hard to believe that such a small rabbit could have as much matting as he did. It took three long grooming sessions to free him of them!

Friendly, lively, fun!

Nimbus - DOB:  June, 2010    Weight:  3.5 lbs

Lester Lester

Lester was part of a confiscation of rabbits kept together and fighting viciously. His right ear was so damaged that the entire middle portion died and fell off. His left ear has a small hole in it. But he has healed now, and is doing very well.

A little shy at first, but loves attention, once he knows you're "safe"

Lester - DOB:  April, 2011    Weight:  3.4 lbs

Chase

Chase was a stray taken to a shelter, and from there, she came to us. She is very uncomfortable with people, but we expect that, with time and gentle handling, she will become friendly.

Very shy.

Chase - DOB:  May, 2010    Weight:  5.4 lbs

Brady Brady

"Champaigne d/Argent" means "champaign of silver."
This lovely rabbit came to us following confiscation from a breeder.

A little shy, but friendly

Brady - DOB:  2009    Weight:  7.5 lbs

Ariel and Flossy

Ariel and Flossy were part of a confiscation where rabbits were kept together, and fought viciously. Fortunately, neither of these two were injured, but they didn't get human socialization, either. However, they will soon exhibit the typical mini-lop joy of interacting with people, being held and cuddled, and petted.

Shy, but becoming progressively comfortable with people.

Ariel - DOB:  June, 2011    Weight:  3.1 lbs Flossy - DOB:      Weight:  4.8 lbs

Alvin Alvin and Fullerton

Alvin and Fullerton were part of a confiscation, where the rabbits were fighting viciously with each other. Fortunately, the only injury to these two is the end of one of Alvin's ears which was a bit tattered.

A bit uneasy with people upon arrival, these two will soon exhibit the typical mini-lop joy of interacting with them, being held and cuddled, and petted.

Alvin - DOB:  APril, 2011    Weight:  3.5 lbs Fullerton - DOB:      Weight:  3.3 lbs
