Dear
Auntie
Bea:
My bunny
has
a scaly
patch
on his
back.
Is this
just
flakey
skin,
or should
I be
worried?
--Flakey
Mom
Dear
Flakey:
Sometimes
bunnies
do
get
scaly
patches
that
are
from
healing
sores
or
areas
of
dry
skin.
But,
it
could
be
a
case
of
fur
mites.
Pull
some
loose
fur
in
that
area
and
see
if
it
has
flakes
near
the
roots
-
this
is
a
sign
of
mites.
Take
your
bunny
to
the
veterinarian
to
confirm
this.
If
it
is
mites,
the
vet
will
give
you
some
medication
and
your
bunny
will
be
as
good
as
new!
Dear
Auntie
Bea:
My family
and
friends
start
walking
in the
other
direction
when
they
see
me coming
with
my album
of bunny
photos.
What’s
a proud
mother
to do?
