1)
Seek Out and Find APPLE BRANCHES
We desperately need apple branches to give
to the foster bunnies and to bundle for sale in the gift shop.
As many of you know, our members
rely on us to have apple branches available for purchase. Our
supply has been depleted and in the very near future, we will no longer
have
bundles available for sale. If you have an apple tree, or know
someone who does, please contact Debby Schmidt at 970-690-0292 or
debbysch@quixnet.net.

2)
Renew Your National Membership
When it's time to renew your membership with the
National HRS, please send your check for $18.00 to us at the Colorado
House
Rabbit Society. When you renew in this manner, the Colorado HRS can
keep $3.00 of the membership fee. We will forward the remaining $15.00
to National. Either way, the membership charge to you is $18.00. Make
your check payable to Colorado HRS and mail it to P.O. Box 238, Broomfield,
CO 80038-0238.

3) Recycle Toner Cartridges
and Cell Phones
Please donate your used printer cartridges, drum
cartridges and old cell phones to Colorado HRS. These can be sold for
recycling. You may leave them with any of the volunteers at the supply
pick-up points or bring them to the shelter in Broomfield. There's
a box in the supply pick-up room labeled, “Recycle Cartridges
Here.” This is another great way for you to help the bunnies
at no cost to you. Spread the word to your employer, friends and family.
If your company would like a specially marked box to collect their
cartridges, please contact Kay at kay@coloradohrs.com.
Last month we raised $63 through this program. Also . . . Make sure
to check out our Cartridge Collection
Contest!

5) Donate Your Car
We are sometimes asked if we will take used vehicles
as a donation. The answer is “Yes!” You may contact Cars
Helping Charities, Inc. at 303-423-CARS (2277) to make arrangements
for the donation of your vehicle. Donated vehicles are sold at auction,
and the
Colorado House Rabbit Society receives 50% of the sales price!

7) Help Build Runs for the Foster Bunnies with Your
Referrals
Colorado HRS member, Kerry Endsley is offering
a great donation opportunity to help us build some much needed runs
for the foster bunnies. For each closed, referred transaction, Kerry
will purchase an aluminum run for the Colorado HRS. These pens cost
about $1,100 each.
If you know someone who is buying or selling a home,
refer them to Kerry. He can be reached at 303-526-7500 (office), 303-215-5363
(direct),
303-570-0267 (cell phone), or 303-670-0025 (fax).

If

to
donate,
please
leave
them
in
the

in
Broomfield
(12601

or

pick
up
people.
Note: Heather Monagle, one of our junior members,
placed donation boxes in her school. Consider doing the same at
your place of employment or in your child’s school. Do this not
only for towels but for toner cartridges and cell phones too. This
is a great idea for a student’s service project.

9) Donate Items
to the Colorado HRS Garage Sale
We will be hosting several garage sales during 2006. If/when
you have items to donate, please do the following:
- Mark a price on all the items you plan to donate;
and
- As applicable, sort your donations by "type."
In other words, group your items by "kitchen," "holiday items,"
garden," and so forth. This will make set-up infinitely easier for
our volunteers.
All donations should be
brought to
our Broomfield location. (Note: Unfortunately,
we cannot accept furniture, clothing, books, or anything weighing
over 20 lbs. Additionally, PLEASE DO NOT BRING "JUNK" OF ANY KIND.
We need good, re-usable items that are
in good
working
order.)
