Bunny Sitting Services: Plan Ahead to Ensure the Safety of Your Rabbits

We constantly receive requests for bunny sitting services from people who are going on vacation or who are called away for other reasons. Unfortunately, we know of very few people who are willing to care for other people’s rabbits.

This means that most of you will have to leave your rabbits with veterinarians who board or with people who won’t recognize symptoms of serious illness in time to seek life-saving attention. It's amazing how many rabbits die when their people are away and rabbit-savvy caretakers aren’t supervising the rabbits.

For your own peace of mind and for the sake of others with similar needs, consider trading bunny sitting services with others in your area when you need to travel out of town.

If you want to trade bunny sitting services with others, contact us.

  1. Indicate two major cross streets near your home; and
  2. Indicate your phone number and email address.

We will add your name to our Bunny Sitters list, and we will email everyone updates to the list as needed. It will then be up to you to determine who is located in your area and to discuss with them possible trade arrangements.

You might even consider becoming a bunny sitter yourself and charging for your services (typically, $10 per day or $50 per week).

If you are willing to bunny sit for a price, you can specify when you would be willing to do it and when you wouldn’t. You may update this information any time you want. For example, you might not be available for bunny sitting all year long, but would be willing to do it from December 15, 2004 through January 10, 2005. Or, you might be willing to do it one week a month.

Email Colorado HRS with the words "bunny sitting" in the subject line if you are interested in either trading or charging for your bunny sitting services. We will help you get started.
