Special Needs Bunnies

To our delight, several of our special needs rabbits have homes now.

Pierre, Francis, Huckleberry and Lelani are permanent fosters with Pam True and Vicki Gamble.

Holly and Omar are permanent fosters with Lisa-Lene’ LaPierre.

Bridgette and Suki were adopted by Mike Stein.

Fluffy was adopted by the Lake Family.

Gazelle and Owen Earl were adopted by Diane Jones.

The following special needs rabbits remain with us. They would dearly love to have families to cherish, care for them and give them a forever home.

McIntosh and Willow - McIntosh and Willow have become pretty friendly since being fostered by Sandy Roberts. They allow themselves to be picked up and seem to be quite comfortable on human laps. These two were part of the state confiscation of 187 animals a few months ago. The only reason they are considered “special needs” is because their long coats require extra care.

Kyla and Mary - These two single rabbits are also part of the same state confiscation. Big, black, and beautiful, Mary has become quite friendly, but has incurable conjunctivitis that must be constantly treated for the rest of her life. Even bigger, Kyla is friendly with people she knows and shy or aggressive with those she doesn’t know. The main reason she is “special needs” is because she is so big.

Carmen (Carmie) - Beloved of everyone who has met her, Carmie is a seven year old, extra small mini-lop. She runs to anyone who calls her by name, and loves to be held and petted. She is special needs only because of her age. She also had a mass removed from her dewlap. We are awaiting the pathology report on it.

Griffin - Big, grumpy Griffin is a great big sweetheart once you prove you aren’t afraid of him. He has had six surgeries for abscesses, three of them in the past month. Because we have yet to learn why they keep recurring so rapidly, and because he is also seven years old, he is listed as “special needs."

**Colorado HRS will pay all medical expenses of special needs rabbits who are in the care of permant foster parents.
