Additions

Fifty-nine bunnies have arrived at the shelter during the past three months.

Because there are so many new bunnies, we haven’t been able to photograph them, and our descriptions here are very short. Eventually, you will be able to see all of them on the Colorado HRS web site with more complete descriptions.

This adorable little girl was attacked by a cat when just a baby. One of her forelegs had to be amputated. She’s very friendly, likes cats and dogs, and exudes self- confidence.

Christy and Avalanche

Avalanche: male; white/grey; 7 lbs; DOB: 2000
Christy is wonderfully friendly. Avalanche was returned by his adopter when his first mate died. He is a very sweet, gentle, friendly rabbit.

James, Tiffany, Jeremy, and Tina

These four were put in a box that was left by the side of the road. Fortunately, they were fighting, causing someone to be curious about why the abandoned box was “moving." They were discovered and rescued. Jeremy and Tina have already been adopted.

Valerie

Dominating, but friendly--Valerie came to us with an abscess resulting from a dog attack. She’s fully recovered now, and demands that someone adopt her—NOW!

Aspen and Liesel

Liesel: female; black/tan; 3-1/2 lbs
DOB: 2002-03
Aspen is exceptionally friendly, Liesel is gaining confidence from him.

Carmen

Female; white/tan/grey “tweed” mini-lop; 5 lbs

This “little old lady” comes to her name and likes nothing as much as being held or petted. Everyone loves Carmie! (See more about Carmie in the “Special Needs’ section)

Marla

Terri was part of the huge Park County confiscation. She’s not only beautiful, but loves attention.

Parker, Patrick, Powell, and Pamela

These bunnies are another foursome who were put in a box that was left by the side of the road. Fortunately, they were fighting, causing someone to be curious enough to discover and rescue them. Unfortunately, Parker ended up with abscesses on his back, but they have quickly healed.

Petey

Male; chocolate/white Dutch; 5 lbs and shrinking (thank goodness!)

Petey was the fattest rabbit we’ve ever seen. His skin was stretched tightly over a round ball of a body. He’s much more svelte now, and has a delightful, friendly personality.

Sweetie

Female; white/black mini-lop; 4-3/4 lbs and growing
DOB: late 2004
This adorable little girl-bunn has a Dr. Jeckyl/Mr. Hyde personality. She can be the friendliest thing on earth, or an attacking monster, depending on your actions at any given time.

Poni Girl

Female; agouti/white mini-lop; 4-1/2 lbs
DOB: 2003
This sweet girl suffered a broken hind leg. After it was pinned and set, her people failed to keep her quiet or to return for her veterinarian re-check. As a result, the leg had to be pinned yet again.

The following twenty rabbits came to us in one day. They had been confiscated because of a zoning issue. All had been very well cared for. Fourteen of them were 4 or 5 months old. Sadly, a virus hit these youngsters, and Addison, Barkley, Darby, Dempsey, Harmony, and Hesper died.
