The State of the State's Rabbits

News from the North
Since January 1, 2004, the Larimer Humane Society took in twenty-five bunnies. Of this number, there was only one euthanasia. This was owner requested for health reasons. Twenty-three bunnies were adopted and we currently have one in foster care. She is a three-legged bunny who required a front leg amputation due to an injury.

On April 5, we participated in a house rabbit presentation at the public library. We were pleased with the attendance. Our audience consisted mostly of parents and their young children. We focused on giving people information about things to consider before adopting a bunny. Hopefully, we will have fewer Easter bunny purchases as a result of our efforts.

Now that Spring has arrived, things have become busier. We currently have two events planned. These are an adoption booth and a sanctuary workday.
