Volume 3,
Issue 2 - May 2003 We have been busy rehabilitating several bunnies who have come to us in severe states of neglect. Some of our most recent cases include: a female minilop who was grossly overweight with severe urine scald. Her fur was so rotten and filthy that it literally fell off of her bum while we were washing her. She is now in foster care and has just been spayed. We have a minilop male who had a molar spur that was embedded in his cheek. Now that it has been filed down he is in a much better mood! Two male bunnies arrived with incisors so overgrown that they were poking into their nostrils. After receiving medical care they were both adopted. Although we,
as representative of the House
Rabbit Society, struggle with
the different agendas that sometimes
clash when rescue organizations
work cooperatively, we continue
to be involved in a positive
way with the shelters. We are
working to build trust and communication
with the Humane Society staff
members who support our mission
to re-home bunnies with people
whose standards are as high as
ours. News
