A Tragic Loss
by Nancy LaRoche

It is with deep sadness that I report the passing of one of our supporting members, Tammi Desnica. Tammi has been a “champion” ever since she joined us some years ago. The thing I will always remember about her was her kindness and patience with a bunny named Fred.

Fred was a Netherland dwarf who was as fearful of people and life in general, as any rabbit I have ever known. Tammi took him because, “No one else would ever have him.” A year later, I received a letter from her; describing the long, patient hours she had spent trying to reassure the frightened little guy. She wrote that for the first time, Fred had come to her on his own, and put his front feet on her leg. “Tell everyone it was worth the wait,” she wrote.

Tammi, the world is diminished by your absence here. May you be reaping the rewards due the goodness you showed in this life to those that others passed over.
