Peeve and Mojo
Peeve and Mojo aren't here because anyone didn't love them. On the contrary, they are here because they are VERY loved bunnies! It's just that another kind of love has gotten in the way of them staying with their family. The newly-blended family is moving to Ireland after a wedding and so these two were entrusted to us to find another family who will no doubt fall just as in love with them as did their first family.
Peeve (who is not in the least bit peevish, by the way, but in fact very special) was the first and he has been much adored, carried about, and played with since he just was a youngster. Later the family added Mojo as a friend for Peeve. And they are truly good friends, but they both also absolutely love people. "If you need a Furry Fix, come in and pet us - we'll stick our heads right in your hands and you may pet us as long as you'd like! Even better, take us home with you and you'll be able to pet us lots and lots. We'd like that best, wouldn't you?" |

Maui
We recently received three beautiful Ruby Rabbits from California, brought over by a couple who drove straight through to get these precious ones to us before they could be killed in the shelter to which they'd been entrusted.
Having been passed over time and time again in that California shelter because of unreasoning prejudice against pink-eyed bunnies, they were going to be the next to be killed when the number of rabbits exceeded the shelter's space.
Rabbit Match, a rescue group working with that shelter, sent an email to the four corners of the earth asking if anyone could take them. We had space, so here they are looking for a partner and a forever home.
Maui, a 4-3/4 lb bunn born in 2007, came to the shelter in California when his former caretaker lost his home. That must have been a heartbreaking sight, because Maui shows all the results of having been very much loved. He is super, super friendly, and begs everyone to pet him, pick him up, play with him, give him attention - anything, except leaving him alone. He is a rabbit who is achiing for a home and he will fill it with his charm and his love. |

Sammy
This tan and grey mini-lop, whose age we have yet to determine, has been named Sammy. The poor little guy was a stray who landed at the Adams County shelter, who asked us to take him when they needed more space.
He was matted, had an ear full of wax, had hair loss from an old scrape, and was just generally in poor shape.
With a bit of TLC and good nutrition, Sammy is beginning to blossom! We find him racing forward when people come by his crate. He seems to realize he's in a safe place where he will be cared for and get some attention.
This is such a pretty little rabbit, we're sure he'll charm his new family with his great personality and his bouncy, happy energy . |

Bippity--On Hold
Another family with allergies surrendered this adorable little black and white Dutch baby to the shelter in Cheyenne. Born in June of 2008, this little one is, of course, adorable and friendly. You can be sure with all the extra attention our babies get around here, this one will always love and trust people.
Although still young, Bippity wants you to come in and meet her - "Visit as often as you can, I'll be here 'til after I'm spayed," she invites.
Her adult weight will probably be around 5 lbs. It would be wonderful for her to be able to go to her forever home just as soon as she is ready! |

Boppity--On Hold
Here is another youngster from the family with allergies who surrendered this adorable little brown and white Dutch baby and her sister, Bippity, to the shelter in Cheyenne.
Boppity, also born in June of 2008, is adorable and friendly. You can be sure with all the extra attention our babies get around here, she will always love and trust people.
Although still young, Boppity wants you to come in and meet her - She teases, "Be sure and see me first, I'm even prettier than my sister. Just ask me!" Her adult weight will probably be around 5 lbs. It would be wonderful for her to be able to go to her forever home just as soon as she has been spayed and is ready! |

Simcha
A beautiful brown mini-rex with a white tummy and black edges on her ears, Simcha (pronounced Sim’sha, meaning "joy") is delightfully typical of the mini-rex breed: friendly, lively, happy, and highly intelligent. She weighs 5-1/4 lbs.
This lovely lady was born in 2006 and somehow found herself roaming around the streets and byways in Cheyenne, looking for her home. After a stint in their shelter, she begged to come to Denver to look for her home - a new home, where she can be sure of love, protection, and companionship. "I've come a long way to find you, so please hurry in and take me home. It might surprise you to find I can do as much for you as you can for me. In exchange for my happy home, you'll find petting my fur the perfect cure for stress and worry!"

Indira is a sweet, active rabbit, who has been through a lot. Described by Rabbit Match as having come to them "in sad shape", she has blossomed with good care. This rabbit is poised to become one of the best, with the gift of a loving home and a snuggly-bunny boy at her side.

Bronwyn
Beautiful, 6-1/4 lb Brownwyn is a young adult black Dutch mix, with a little white on her face. This very friendly girl was probably born in 2006! She came to us from the shelter in Cheyenne, where she'd been living after found as a stray. Life as a stray rabbit is usually a very short life, so Bronwyn was lucky to have been found in time.
Her luck stuck again, as she was able to come here to us where she can interview lots more people to be her new family than she was meeting before. Despite living on the streets for awhile, she has obviously acquired a taste for some of the finer things in a bunny's life, such as banana! "The next thing I want to indulge in, " she shares, "is the love of another bunny and a human who loves us both. I think THAT is the finest thing I could ever have!"

Redford
Redford is a beautiful, rust-colored rabbit born in 2006, and weighing 7-3/4 lbs. He has landed here as the result of his human family's home going into foreclosure. Despite our regret for the family, we must admit we feel things have taken an upturn in Redford's life.
We have no idea what he's gone through in his short life, but some of it was clearly not in his best interest! When he arrived, he was terrified of humans, but he has quickly discovered that people, wonderful people, are the source of yummy goodies and lovely rubs, which he greatly enjoys. He has been delighted to find out that, indeed, he actually likes humans! And he is beginning to believe he could even love and be loved by humans - imagine that?!?
Redford had a brief run as the mini-sultan of a little harem of two does, with whom he sired litters of a total of 10 babies. Seven of the babies came into the shelter when he did. As cute as they all are, they aren't going to be ready for homes 'til they're old enough to be neutered. "I'm ready for a home and a family now", he explains. "It's time for this boy to start a new, happy life with people who care about me and let me learn even more about the wonderful creatures called 'people' and family life!" |

Letitia
Letitia was a stray rabbit found in Cheyenne and taken to their shelter. Soon this pretty litte 4-1/4 lb agouti girl found her way all the way to Colorado to search out the family and the boy bunn of her dreams.
Born in 2007, this young rabbit hasn't had much of a chance to learn to trust people, yet she is easily picked up and snuggle. She is a bit cautious; wouldn't you be had you had her lack of stability? Yet despite her concerns, she is gentle and willing to make friends with those who are open and warm enough to give her the time and attention of just a few moments. This touchingly sweet rabbit will bloom like a precious flower once given the chance to relax in a loving home.

Icelandia is a 7-3/4 lb female born in May of 2007, who was described as Rabbit Match’s favorite bunny! She rushes to the front of her crate for petting. She does mongo "dead bunny" flops (Miss Personality-Plus that she is). It's obvious she is accustomed to, and expects, tons of love and attention. The home and the family who take in this very, very special rabbit will soon understand why so much time, effort, and expense were dedicated to saving her life. |

Radar
When a family lost their farm to a foreclosure, another family took their three llamas, 36 chickens, and a variety of other animals. Then they discovered that there were three rabbits, so they took them, too.
Redford, a beautiful, rust-colored male, was delighted to find himself with two white female bunnies, and quickly did what young male rabbits do - he fathered two litters which were born on May 25, 2008. One doe rejected her babies, but the other accepted them, and did a fantastic job of caring for all ten of Redford's little ones. Some of these bunnies have Redford’s rust color; others appear to be white with a "topping" of rust.
These babies are all happy to meet people, and come sometime in September after they've been neutered, they'll be really eager to find their new homes. |
